Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (1630-1680 AD) was a great king and strategist of India who ruled in 1674 AD. Laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire in West India. He strugglChhatrapati Shivaji Maharajed with Aurangzeb's Mughal Empire for many years. He was crowned in Raigarh in 1674 and became "Chhatrapati". Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj provided a History of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajworthy and progressive administration with the help of his disciplined army and well-organized administrative units. He made many innovations in martial arts and developed a new style of guerrilla war (Shivasutra). He revived ancient Hindu political practices and courtly etiquette and made Marathi and Sanskrit the official language instead of Persian.
In the freedom struggle of India, many people, inspired by the biography of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, donated their body, mind and money for the freedom of India.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630 in Shivneri fort. Shivaji Maharaj was born from the womb of Shahaji Bhonsle's wife Jijabai (Rajmata Jijau). The fort of
Shivneri was near Junnar Nagar on the north side from Poona (Pune). His childhood was spent under the guidance of his mother Jijau Maa Saheb. He was an expert in all the arts, he had studied politics and war in his childhood. Shivaji's elder brother's name was Sambhaji who lived with his father Shahaji Bhosle most of the time. Shahaji Raje's second wife was Tukabai Mohite. He had a son named Ekoji Raje.
His mother Jijabai was an exceptionally talented woman born in the Yadav clan and his father was a powerful feudal lord. Shivaji Maharaj's character was greatly influenced by his parents. From childhood, they began to understand the environment and events of that era well. They used to get frustrated and restless over the deeds of the ruling class. The flame of freedom was ignited in his child's heart.
He organized some Swami Bhakta Saathis. As the situation worsened, his resolve to break the shackles of foreign rule became stronger. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was married to Saibai Nimbalkar on 14 May 1640 at Lal Mahal, Pune.
